I hope everyone is safe, dry, warm and in good spirits, especially after the tragedy of Hurricane Sandy. It is at times like these that I’ve found keeping a positive attitude, and taking it one day at a time, will make it easier and maybe a little less stressful to recover.
I and many friends and family have lost many of our homes, sentimental items, and more. It can be very scary, but again, I have faith that we will rebuild, and become stronger than before. In this time of every one’s need I hope that we can avoid being grumpy to others and have a sense of compassion.
Yesterday marked two years since my grandmother passed away. November 4th is always a somber day for me. Yesterday was particularly difficult with the stresses of school, as well as worrying out home. It was rainy and cold; just like it was on this particular day to years ago. It hasn’t gotten easier.
*** doughnate News ***
In efforts to assist with the revitalization of our towns, homes, and lives, doughnate’s annual fall fundraiser’s proceeds will be going to Hurricane Sandy Relief funds.
Pumpkin, Apple, Caramel Apple, and Pecan Pies will be sold for $30.00, freshly baked or frozen. Frozen Pies can also be shipped domestically for an extra shipping fee.
Other fall desserts are available upon request.
We are also in the midst of organizing a Thanksgiving Dinner with those who have lost their homes, and would otherwise not be having thanksgiving. Though we were hit hard, there is still a lot to be thankful for. Please let us know if you’d be interesting in assisting with this.
There’s always a rainbow after the rain.

The 100th post from TheCoutureCook will be short, but all because of a busy schedule, and plenty of great, and exciting new developments! Also, we are now an official LLC.

After catering two events (both were planned to have +/- 200 people, so it’s been madness!) I finally decided that I’d be expanding to catering events, though only one or two a year, for up to 150 people! As a gift for all of my hard work, my mother treated me to the most exciting present ever, a new Knives Set! I’m super excited to continue building and designing new exciting recipes… all with the ever so precise, quality new knives set. Right now, the bids are in for a classic 9-piece Shun set; check them out! I was really set on viking but after talking to a colleague I think I’m in love!
New happenings have not slowed down, though. If you haven’t already, check out my new site: http://www.thecouturecook.com it’s not completely dont; but we’ve put it up and it will include all thecouturecook & doughnate information!
+ exciting news! We’ve been featured over at Couch Sessions for our work with Sneakers 4 Success; check out the interview here: The COUTURE COOK x Sneakers 4 Success
Photos from the events are coming soon!
